Why

Tasks and requests often arrive via Telegram. Instead of copy-pasting into Todoist, just forward the message to the bot — it becomes a task you can triage later.

What it does

Create tasks from any message or forward
Merge multiple forwards into one task and keep original authors for context
Send to Inbox by default (you can choose another project in settings)
One-step setup — log in once and you’re good to go
Privacy-first — your messages and task content are not stored or logged by the bot itself; everything is relayed to Todoist (and, while AI task generation is on, to the configured AI provider) and discarded immediately
AI task generation — composes task titles, descriptions, due dates (with timezone), picks the right project, and reads text from attached PDFs and photos of tickets / bookings. Enabled by default; can be turned off in /settings

Scope: works in a private chat with the bot (no groups/channels).

Getting started

Open @SendToTodoistBot and tap Start.
Tap Log in with Todoist and authorize access.
Send a message — it appears in your Todoist as a task.
To capture incoming requests, forward messages to the bot.
(Optional) Open Settings in the bot to change the target project from Inbox.

Usage tips

Batch capture: select multiple messages in Telegram and forward them all at once — the bot can merge them into a single task and preserve authors for context.
Quick notes: send yourself a short idea or reminder; it lands in Todoist to triage later.
Project routing: if you prefer a specific project instead of Inbox, change it for the next task and press “Set as Default”

Privacy & data handling

No message storage: the bot does not store or log message text, attachments, or task content.
No analytics on task content.
Stateless by design: payloads are relayed to your task provider (and, while AI task generation is enabled, to the configured AI provider) and discarded immediately by the bot.
Minimum necessary data: to function, the bot keeps only what’s required to send tasks — your Telegram user ID, your encrypted Todoist access token, and minimal per-user settings (default project, timezone, default due date, whether AI task generation is on).
We will never sell your data. The bot only shares data with the third-party services strictly required to fulfill your request: Todoist and — while AI task generation is on — AI provider.

AI task generation

AI task generation is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in /settings. While it is on:

The text of your message(s) and any attached files (PDFs, photos, text files) are sent to a third-party AI provider for a single inference call, so the model can compose the task title, description, due date, and pick a project.
The bot itself does not log or persist the contents of your messages or files at any point.
Please do not attach highly sensitive documents (e.g. scans of identity documents, medical records, banking credentials). The AI feature is meant for tickets, booking confirmations, invitations, receipts, notes and similar.

Turning AI task generation off in /settings stops sending any further data to the AI provider. Turning it back on is treated as acceptance of this Privacy Policy as of the “Last updated” date above.

Data deletion

Run /settings → 🔌 Disconnect to delete all data the bot holds about you: your encrypted provider token, preferences, and action history.

This is an unofficial integration. Doist/Todoist are not affiliated with this project.

Limitations

Works in private chat with the bot (not in group chats or channels).
With AI task generation on (default), the bot reads text, PDFs, and images from your attachments (subject to per-file size limits).
With AI task generation off, the bot works with text only and ignores attached media.
Subject to Todoist API limits and policies.
